In 2020 Steve Ritzema, with the help of many others, founded Active Soul Care with the dream of connecting with people in and through the outdoors.
Since I was young, my family and I have loved spending time in the outdoors where we would talk, reflect, and encourage each other through life. I’ve been an avid outdoorsman throughout my life and have had many important and often life changing conversations as I experienced the outdoors with friends and family. So that is the premise on which I’ve built Active Soul Care, to connect with people in the outdoors!
Steve is a husband to Natalie, father of 4, and he has passed his love for the outdoors onto his family. Whether on the beach, fishing, hiking, biking, playing catch, shooting hoops, or sitting by a fire they love spending time together and connecting outside!
He’s a graduate of St. Olaf College with a major in Psychology and Religion
He’s a 2000 graduate of Trinity International University with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology
He served 15 years at Mercy Home, a long-standing Catholic Institution for boys and girls in Chicago, that serves children and their families to help improve their lives.
In 2016, he moved into full-time church ministry in Muskegon, Michigan where he served as a Pastor for four years leading the church’s counseling ministry.
